This week’s podcast features a reading from our NEW Discussion Starters lesson plan on Paternity Leave. Paternity leave is becoming more common as gender equality improves in the workplace. Even though many dads are offered time off with their newborns, most refuse to take it. In the full lesson plan, students answer comprehension questions, learn new vocabulary, and discuss reasons why many dads don’t take paternity leave even when they are offered it. This lesson also reviews the structure for expressing unexpected situations (despite, in spite of, even though, etc.).
